"The warning was to stay clear of Hue because the enemy was mounting heavy assaults on the city and inflicting extensive damage and numerous casualties. Warrant Officer Fred Ferguson knew his wounded comrades needed to be evacuated immediately. He ignored the warning and flew his UH-1 into Hue. The decision resulted in the rescue of several critically wounded men - and the Medal of Honor for WO Ferguson."

Michael Norton enlisted in the Army in 1969 and served with the 114th Assault Helicopter Company in South Vietnam, flying the UH-1 "Huey" helicopter. In addition to his art career, Michael has continued to fly Bell helicopters as a civilian and the Sikorsky UH-60 "Black Hawk" with the Army National Guard.
